It is durable, stiff and yet comfortable. Compared to aluminum, steel has more elasticity, resulting in more comfort. The cabling is not integrated. This also makes for a lower price tag, and facilitates maintenance. The classic steel frame is an ode to the glorious past of Eddy Merckx bicycles.
